Iceland Gets Infrared Treatment

Leica M9 camera

Photo: Wikipedia.

Photographers and non-photographers alike leave Iceland with cameras full of stunning images, so one recent visitor decided to break the mould.

Andy Lee had been impressed with the many images of Icelandic mountains, waterfalls and wide landscapes he had seen from others, so decided to attempt to go a step further on his own first trip to the country, Digital Photography Review reports.

Using a DSLR lens converted for infrared photography, he took a series of moody photographs in which blues and blacks dominate and Iceland is given a whole new level of drama.

The end result is not menacing, dull or gloomy, but rather epic, detailed and elegant (but of course opinion like that is subjective: see what you think and leave a comment below here).
